Floors for Animals, Equipment and Mud

Epoxy flooring in Rainbow Valley gets used hard. This rural area lies south of the Gila River, west of Estrella Mountain Ranch, and outside Buckeye's city limits. Most of it is multi-acre lots, and many residents keep horses, goats and chickens. Several dairies operate in the valley. The slabs we coat here tend to be in barns, tack rooms, wash areas and shops as often as in attached garages.

Concrete around animals has a rough life. Manure, urine, feed, fly spray and water all soak into bare slab, and the smell soaks in with them. A sealed, seamless floor keeps that on the surface where a hose and a squeegee can move it out the door.

Coatings for working buildings

Tack and feed rooms. A flake floor with a solid topcoat keeps grain dust and spilled supplements from grinding into the concrete and makes the room easy to sweep.

Wash racks and barn aisles. These need grip more than looks. We broadcast aggregate into the coating so hooves and boots have traction on a wet floor, and we slope the finish toward existing drains where the slab allows it.

Shops and equipment bays. Trailers, tractors and side-by-sides bring weight and fluids. A thicker commercial system handles the load and resists oil and fuel.

Home garages. A garage floor coating or epoxy flake floor seals the slab against the dust that blows across open land.

Older homes and the 2000 influx

Rainbow Valley's older homes were built between 1970 and 1999, and a large wave of residents arrived starting in 2000. Wikipedia notes that about 49% of residents moved in after 2000 and that most homes are mobile homes, with two subdivisions, Grand View Ranches and Grand View Ranches II. That means a mix of slabs: older barn floors with years of wear, newer garage pads added to manufactured-home lots, and some new shops. We grind every one and repair cracks before coating, whatever its age.

Water on the move

Rainbow Valley gets little rain most of the year, but when storms hit, washes run. In November 2025 AZFamily reported flooding at Waterman Wash, where Narramore Road, the main route in and out for many residents, was blocked by the Sheriff's Office. A resident died in the wash's floodwaters the month before. Maricopa County pointed to the Rainbow Valley Area Drainage Master Plan, completed in 2011, and said regional flood improvements would need a partner city such as Goodyear.

A floor coating does not stop floodwater. What it does is make cleanup much easier. Mud and silt wipe off a sealed floor instead of staining bare concrete, and a coated slab dries faster after it has been hosed down. If water is coming up through a slab or pooling against a wall, we will tell you that during the estimate, because that needs grading or drainage work before any coating.

We come out, walk each building you want coated, and check the slab for moisture, cracks and old sealers. Then we send a written quote that lists each building separately, so you can do the barn now and the garage later if you prefer. Call (623) 432-8986 to set up a time.

Rainbow Valley Questions

Can you coat a horse barn aisle or wash rack?

Yes, if it is concrete. We add a broadcast aggregate for traction, since a smooth coating gets slick when wet. Rubber stall mats can go back on top of the coated floor in the stalls themselves.

Will a coating protect my shop if the wash floods?

No coating will keep floodwater out of a building. A sealed floor does make cleanup much easier, because mud and silt stay on the surface and the slab dries faster. If water seeps up through the slab, that has to be fixed with drainage or grading first.

Can you coat several buildings on the same property?

Yes. We quote each building separately so you can see the cost of each one and decide what to do first. Doing them in one trip can save some setup time.
