A Century of Concrete in One City
Glendale is much bigger than its West Valley neighbors, with 248,325 residents in 2020, and epoxy flooring jobs here vary with the age of the house. William John Murphy platted the original townsite in 1895, south of the Arizona Canal he had built. Glendale's population nearly doubled between 1950 and 1960, and the opening of Arrowhead Towne Center in 1993 made the north end a hotspot for new housing. A floor in central Glendale and a floor in Arrowhead Ranch are not the same job.
Mid-century homes
Homes built during the postwar boom are now around 60 or 70 years old. Their garages and carports often have:
- Wide cracks and settled slabs
- Old paint, sealers or tile adhesive
- Oil soaked deep into the concrete
- Low spots where water pools
We grind off old coatings, degrease, fill cracks and level low spots where we can. Some older slabs need concrete repair before any coating. We will tell you if that is the case, and we give you a written quote either way.
Arrowhead Ranch and newer neighborhoods
North Glendale's newer subdivisions have younger slabs that usually need less repair. They still get ground so the coating bonds. Owners here often ask for flake floors in neutral blends, or polyaspartic systems for a quick turnaround. West-facing garages get a UV-stable topcoat so the color does not fade.
Game day at home
Glendale is home to State Farm Stadium, where the Arizona Cardinals have played since 2006. It has hosted three Super Bowls and the NCAA Men's Final Four. Desert Diamond Arena and the Westgate Entertainment District are next door. Plenty of residents turn a garage into a place to host friends on game day. A metallic epoxy floor gives that room a polished look, and it wipes clean after a party.
Military families
Luke Air Force Base is Glendale's largest employer, with 5,100 employees. If you are selling a house before a move, a coated garage floor can help it show well. If you just arrived, we can coat the garage before your household goods come off the truck. Tell us your timeline and we will work around it.
Business floors
Glendale also has auto shops, retail spaces and small warehouses. Our commercial and warehouse floor epoxy uses heavier systems for traffic and spills, with safety striping where you need it. We can schedule work to keep your business open.
Tips for a lasting floor
- Sweep or blow out dust after monsoon storms so grit does not scratch the topcoat
- Use a soft mop and mild cleaner instead of harsh solvents
- Put pads under jack stands and heavy cabinet feet
- Rinse off road grime and oil spots before they dry in the sun
Glendale's climate is hot and dry, with very hot summers and mild winters, so UV and heat are the main concerns for any floor that sees daylight. We cover all of that in your written quote, along with the prep, each coat and the total price.
A canal city with mixed soils
Glendale grew along the Arizona Canal, a 40-mile channel Murphy finished in 1885. Older neighborhoods near the canal and the original townsite have older concrete and, in some spots, mature trees with roots that can lift slab edges. We look for that kind of movement during the estimate. If a crack is still moving, we explain the options before any coating goes down.

Glendale Questions
Can you coat a cracked garage floor in an older Glendale home?
In most cases, yes. We grind, fill cracks and patch spalled areas first. If the slab has settled or shifted a lot, we will tell you that it needs concrete repair before coating.
Can you finish a garage before my move to Luke AFB housing off base?
Yes. Send us your move date. We can often coat the floor before your belongings arrive, and polyaspartic systems shorten the wait before you can use it.
What finish works for a game-day garage?
Metallic epoxy gives a glossy, custom look, and flake floors hide spills and wear. We show you samples and talk about lighting and color before you choose.
